Also included is reference for the volume capacity regarding the amount of cremated remains (ashes) each item is designed to contain. Volume capacities are stated in cubic inches. An accurate determination for the appropriate volume capacity required for an individual pet is: One (1) pound of body weight = one (1) cubic inch of volume Thus, a fifty (50) pound dog would require an urn with a least a fifty (50) cubic inch volume capacity for cremated remains.
